Don’t hate me because I can pick my own asparagus.
We like it steamed, roasted, sautéed, souped, really any way you can fix asparagus. Mom found a recipe for wrapping asparagus in bacon and baking it. Now, about the only time I really like bacon is when I have fresh homegrown tomatoes, so that I can have BLT sandwiches. So for me, there is kinda a season for bacon, if you will. Sunday night, Mom fixed some. This is how it looked before she stuck it in the oven.
This is what it looked like after being roasted
Looks tasty, you say? It was no BLT, but it was pretty good! Do you raise asparagus? If not, visit a local farmer’s market and try some, because fresh picked beats even the stuff they sell as fresh at most grocery stores. When you support a local farmer, you help someone just like you and me. Now, get out there and make life DIY!
